The Sarasota Bay Buddies program is made possible by: The Sarasota Bay Estuary Program. The Bay Buddies program is one of the many projects under the Volunteer Services umbrella, and was established by 3 high school student from Bayshore High School.

Over 140 people come out to make a difference on April 22, 2006 at Emerson Point in Palmetto. The students, parents, teachers, and park rangers worked at removing exotic plants, remove litter, and plant some new long leaf pine trees at this BAY BUDDIES event. What a great turn out. We have volunteers from: Kinnan Elementary, the Girls Scouts, Johnson Middle School, Braden River Middle School, Bayshore High School, the Boys and Girls Club, and the REEF RAKERS program. A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made this day such a success.
